The Cobblestone Gala is always free. It is a gift to the city, to its population, to all visitors. A gift from our and yours Porsgrunn International Theater Festival.

The evening where Porsgrunn shows its best side.

In the heart of the city, in front of the Town Hall, the cobblestones are decorated with small and large steps, acrobatics, a jazz orchestra, hip-hop, student parade, mini-musicals … And much, much more.

This evening’s most important guest is YOU. It is you who makes the Cobblestone Gala to the meeting place it is. You who are still small, you who are young, you who are beyond being just grown up. On the cobblestones, we will create a connection between you and me, young and old. Rich and poor.

We will nod to the hip-hop rhythms and rhymes of Sam Eghtedari and Salti. Together. We will form a vibrating mass. We will dance. In groups. Or for ourselves. We will lift our gaze up at the same time and follow the lady on the trapeze. We will mirror flame shows in our eyes.

We will laugh. With clown Adam Read and Prof. Bustric. Or of them, if it’s suitable.

We will experience international and local artists in our city. In reality. Not on a screen. Not sitting on the couch. But on the cobblestones.

And we’re going to do all this in one evening, you ask? Yes.

Saturday evening, June the 8th. The Cobblestone Gala. You will find the way. You find it by listening, smelling and searching with curious eyes, perhaps following a clown, because he surely knows where he is going.

We don’t need fireworks. They are already in us. And besides, our little dog mascot gets scared. And we want to avoid that, because it is very cute. And it cheers for a greener PIT into the future!
