Bukowski in Norwegian.
Torstein Andersen presents texts by American poet Charles Bukowski, translated into the Norwegian Trønder dialect by Geir Nergaard. Charles Bukowski (1920-1994) was a little younger than the beat poets, creating his own genre; Dirty realism. He is poet of the streets, and completely honest in his free form of poetry, which contains both deep pain and black humor. Jean Paul Sartre and Jean Genet held Bukowski to be America’s greatest writer.
He looked upon himself as the perfect American loser. Two musicians that has been inspired by Bukowski’s is Tom Waits and Bono.
